"Previous Name" / "Maiden Name" Field: We would find it helpful to have a field in the "General" tab for "Previous Name" or "Maiden Name" for when someone changes their name after marriage. Obviously, this applies to mostly women, but we have had male patients change their surnames as well.

Hi Jessica

Welcome to the community.

We will be using this forum to help gauge interest in ideas like yours, and to help us determine what exactly our users would like to see in the software. We will mostly be looking for conversation activity (comments) and 'Likes' to help point us in the right direction, but that doesn't mean your idea won't be heard without them.

While we do have the 'Notes' tab to enter miscellaneous information, which could include a 'Previous name', I do understand why you might want a dedicated area on the general tab for a quick reference.

What does everyone think? Please leave a comment or give Jessica's idea a 'Like' if this is something you would like to see in the Front Desk software.

Yes i agree. I currently type (nee 'maiden name') in preferred name section. That works for me but would benefit from a maiden name tab.

It would be really helpful to have a dedicated area for this so we could search on the previous name.

I was wondering if any more action was being taken with this suggestion? It would be immensely helpful.

Hi HFC. We are still considering this matter. Most practice management and customer relationship management systems do not include a provision for a previous/maiden name. This idea is currently a low priority item for us unless we receive greater user demand for this feature.

We put the maiden name in brackets after their surname ie.
Sarah Smith (Jones)   ... not ideal but it is helpful for us. A field would be helpful tho.
