"Problem" with events since upgrading to version 18.2.4

Upgraded to 18.2.4 today and looking forward to seeing the new features.

I tried to add a patient event to a patient file.  It's one of our own event types, "X-rays left at clinic".  (We also have "X-rays returned to patient", etc.  These events help us to log when x-rays come in to and leave our premises).

I added the event, clicked "OK" in the customary manner.  Nothing happened.  ?

Experimenting, it transpires that, under 18.2.4, when adding an event, the user is now obliged to type something into the large "Note" box.  May I ask why this has changed?  Our events are self-explanatory and often require no further comment.

I got around the issue today by entering a couple of full stops (..) into the Note box.  Why the extra work?
