Setting default Resources with Appointment Types + Unavailable resource warning.

A warning pop-up when overlapping (ie, time slot) a particular appointment type across practitioners would be very useful.

Clinic situation:
- Multiple practitioners with 1 x expensive machine that is shared between all.
- Cannot have two patients booked in simultaneously, as the same "appointment type" 
- Receptionists mostly use 'week view' for each practitioner to easily find appointment slots over the phone.
- At the moment, reception have to cross-reference with 'day view' over all practitioners to ensure the machine isn't 'double booked'

Hi Andrew

Thanks for posting.

We do have a feature suitable for this situation called Resources.

To use this feature, you would first create the resource under the Appointment Book tab of System Information.



That resource can then be assigned to an appointment as seen below.



Once assigned the resource will no longer be available to select for other appointments at the same time, across all practitioners.

However, is there any way to set a resource as a 'default' for appointment type?

There is currently no feature to set a default Resource to an Appointment Type.  We could make this your 'idea' rather than above.

So in this case you would like to:
  • Allow a default resource to be assigned to an Appointment Type.
  • Have a warning appear if the resource is unavailable when selecting the appointment type while making a booking.
Does this sound accurate?

We'd really like to see this feature as well, to add a default resource to an Appointment Type, very handy to stop double bookings and saves having to add the resource type manually.
