Allow users to 'search invoices' but block 'transaction' reports

Some third party insurers do not print client names on their remittance advice.  They list the payments alongside the invoice number front desk has generated.
This means that the only way for admin staff to identify the client name is by clicking on drop down box 'System' and selecting 'Search Invoices'.
Unfortunately, this function is blocked for admin staff because when we set up their 'security function' we do not allow them to be able to generate reports for 'Transaction Log' because we do not want our staff to be able to click three buttons and work out how much our annual turnover is for our business.
This means that they are not able to 'search invoices' because when we do not allow access to Transaction Log we are blocking access to search invoices.
Solution would be to separate these two functions so that we can block access to reports for Transaction Log but still allow ability to search invoices.

Thanks to the other members of the community who have agreed that this is a problem.
I first raised this issue with Front Desk help desk on the 31 January 2012 and it has still not been changed.  The more people that comment then maybe something will be done about this.  Let's hope so :-)

Hi Luke. Thank you for bringing this to our attention again.

We agree that we should create a new user Access setting to allow searching of invoices to be separate from access to transaction reports. We will be implementing this change as a part of some enhancements to the Security and Access settings later this year following the release of Xero integration which is currently our highest priority.

More information on these other Security enhancements can be found in the following article: https://community.smartsoft.com.au/smartsoft/topics/security-on-clinical-note
