Appointment Scheduler changing apt type once processed

Since the latest update, when we use the appointment scheduler, it will make all future apts NEW apt type when it processes, even though the apt we are starting from is DVA apt type and we make sure it says DVA apt type on pop up box when scheduler opens (in the past it would default it to something different so we are used to checking/fixing this). 

This is happening 50% of the time that we use appointment scheduler and we have had 3 admin staff watch it happen to make sure we are not making an error in the process. Can you please advise if there is a fix for this as it is requiring a lot of double up time to fix.
