Wondering if it would be possible for smartsoft to create a billing system where you bill per for time, such as an hourly rate? This would help with both consultancy work but also work cover work that have hourly rates.

We are struggling with this at the moment also. And treatment plans that shave "hours" of approved work.

Hi Julienne. While it is not possible to setup a Treatment Plan to track the number of hours you have been allocated, you can track the maximum dollar value associated with the total number of hours the patient has been allocated (assuming hours approved are charged at a constant rate). This can be done from the patient file under Billing Details > Treat. Plan.

In the example below, the patient has been approved for a total of 10 hours at $200 per hour, so the Value of Treatments has been set to $2,000.

Hi Daniel and Julienne

While Smartsoft staff are active on the Community, we hope to encourage conversation between Front Desk users as we don’t guarantee an official response to each post :)

To address Daniel’s query, there is currently no feature to bill at a set hourly rate in Front Desk. A potential solution is to create individual item codes for your most commonly billed hourly rates as below:

Alternatively, you could create a placeholder item code for hourly billings. You can then manually adjust the description and calculate the total at the time of billing:

We hope this helps. We will continue to monitor this idea for further interest from the community.
