Booking Gateway and self-updating patient details

We have just realised that patients can easily update their contact details (mobile and email) via the online booking gateway. This usually doesn't cause a problem, but for cases including estranged partners and child custody disputes, we were hoping there was a way to enforce an extra check, like having to ring the clinic to update these etc. or if there is a way we can set it so that you can't update these details online? Help please!

Hi Sarah. This is not completely correct. Once a patient has created an account to log in to the Patient Booking Gateway, there is no way for them to see or update the contact details on their patient file. For existing patients booking as guests, once they've selected a time for their appointment, they are required to provide their contact details so that they can be identified. This information is then presented to staff in Front Desk alongside their existing contact information (shown below) so that practice staff can choose whether any existing contact details need to be updated. This process provides patients with the opportunity to update their contact details in a controlled manner, no different to requesting an update to contact details on the phone or in person at the practice through reception staff.
