Delayed SMS Reminders

Is there a way of knowing when a delayed SMS was actually sent. "Events" appears to show when the SMS was composed and sent to the system but not when it was delivered. I have had a couple of questions (from people claiming not to have received the SMS) and would like to be able to say it was sent at this time. Thanks

Hi Anthony

As you have found the 'Event' records when it was sent to our SMS Gateway, where it will wait until the designated time before being forwarded to the mobile provider.  There is no confirmation in Front Desk for the final delivery yet, but in 99% of cases it is forwarded within a few seconds of the time set for 'delayed send'. Typically messages are received within a minute of sending.

We are looking at adding a 'delivery receipt' in the near future, which will be sent back to the practice upon the message being received to the patient's handset.

As for messages not being received, I have followed up on several cases (by contacting the mobile providers) to confirm this in the past, but in almost every instance it has been an issue with the receiving mobile provider, or the individuals phone or mobile account. For example, on certain plans you can't receive 'business grade' SMS if your credit balance is $0.00.
