Please note that Optus are currently experiencing connection issues, and replies from patients on the Optus networks may be delayed.
This is due to an issue with the connection between Optus and Telstra networks, which they are aware of and currently working to resolve.

The delivery of SMS to these providers is not affected.

We will update this post with more information as it becomes available.

So if they have were delayed and the issues is resolved should they now come through? I haven't received any SMS confirmations from clients since Friday morning. I sent myself a test message this morning and responsed to it by text. I did receive the text but my reply is not showing in FrontDesk yet (2 hours later). Thank you.

Hi Melanie

There are no current outages in regards to SMS replies.

Please feel free to open up a support case at so that we can investigate the issue you are experiencing.

As a side note, a small number of users reported issues in regards to SMS delivery receipts being delayed or not received on the patient file in earlier versions of Front Desk when the delivery receipt functionality was first added. Note that this is different from actually receiving the SMS reply from the patient in Front Desk. The SMS delivery receipt functionality has been improved and we are not aware of any issues in this area in the latest version of Front Desk. Front Desk upgrades can be downloaded at:
