Just wondering what is the quickest way to get the following information
- Totals Gender (males and females)
- Age ranges

At the moment we get these from reports, patient lists, selecting the group, by gender and then doing this for age groups (ie between 0-14).  Is there another way without having to manually run a report each time?  Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mellissa. An alternative way to do this is by exporting the Patient List Report to Excel using the Export button.

Once the list is in Excel, you can use the Sort tool to group the results appropriately and then count the results.

Using Gender as an example, select the Gender column title ('Z') and then select Sort A to Z:

When the column is sorted, the next step is to drag and select all 'female' patients using your mouse. Once you've selected all females, you will find a count in the bottom right of Excel.

Once you've noted down the count, you can repeat the process for other genders as well as for your desired age groups.

It is also possible for Smartsoft to develop a custom report for you that can present these figures through our custom programming service on a time billed basis. If you would like further information on this option, please contact our Business Care team.
