Hi, we were wondering if anyone has integrated a Dictation type software system to allow you to dictate clinical notes directly into the patients file rather than the usual method of dictating and downloading the information?

I look forward to your feedback, Warmly Cindy.

We have been using Dragon Medical voice recognition software for 5 years and its very good.
Its the best available and I believe there is a new version available which is more accurate.

thanks Peter did it take much inital training? in the past it required a good portion of Lord of the Rings read into it for vocab recognition. I think ill definitely have another look at it.

not really, some initial voice training for the software to adapt to your voice and with continual use the accuracy improves, you still need to do some typing but not a lot.

hi Peter, I'm sorry to ask a potentially dumb question but to set it up and have it work with Front Desk, do you just install the software, and sync the microphone, but then how does front desk know you want it to use dragon. Any help would be great as this is something we'd like to get going just after Christmas, thanks Teresa

Installing the software will allow you to dictate text to any program or window you physically type in.
So once you open the voice software you can dictate to clinical notes, warnings, notes, sms or emails etc all you have to do is place the cursor in that window/box and dictate. You also have controls to pause and restart software on keyboard.
