Direct Deposit - Editing & 14 digit remittance numbers

Hi Tim - we had the scenario this AM where our admin staff entered a DD amount and then accidentally hit enter before entering the payee/EFT number. When she went to "edit the Item details" by right clicking on the payment the option to enter these details was no longer there. Is there any chance that this could be fixed?

Also some of our Insurers have a 14 digit remittance number which won't fit.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will be adding the payer and remittance fields to the "edit item" window in the next Front Desk upgrade. In the meantime, we will consider increasing the character limits on the payer and remittance fields.

Hi Tim, just wondering if there is any movement in expanding the amount of character limits? We keep running into trouble because the insurers keep changing what they use as a reference and we cant enter all the potential information into the space allocated. Is there any chance of expanding the character limit to 50?
Also The medicare/dva extra info with the last update is working great

Hi Adam. We're pleased to hear that the additional info included with Medicare/DVA payments is working well. We had a number of clients make this suggestion, so it made it onto the development list. Regarding increasing the character limit of the remittance number field, we have previously noted your interest in this possible change and are currently looking for input from other users.

Hi Adam - we just input the last 4-6 digits of the remittance numbers rather than the whole string of numbers - makes it quicker to input and so far haven't had a situation where the same amount has the same 4-6 digits in the same reconciliation period...  Cheers, jane

Hi Adam. The character limit on the remittance number field has been increased to 40 characters in Front Desk v19.0.2, which can be downloaded at www.smartsoft.com.au/support
