Does anyone use Tyro through a Remote Desktop Connection to a cloud server?

We are looking at getting Tyro but having read previous posts about it's connection issues I just wanted to see if anyone is in a similar situation as us and can tell me how it works for them?

I have previously read that if you have terminals in multiple locations the communication between Front Desk and Tyro gets confused about which terminal it should be using.  We have had this issue with printers before and it was a nightmare.

We have multiple locations and connect to Front Desk through a Remote Desktop Connection to a cloud server.  Therefore Front Desk is only installed on that one computer, so Tyro tell me it shouldn't be a problem.  It's only when it's installed on each computer that it becomes a problem.  Does anyone else have this setup?  I just want to be sure it will all work ok and use the right terminal before we start cancelling the current bank terminals and incurring fees.

Thanks :)

I'm not sure if this is the same situation but we log in remotely from our second location (through a remote desktop connection) to Frontdesk which is installed on the server at our main office... we had to get a second Tyro machine for the additional location and it cant be connected to Frontdesk at the second location because the Tyro machine at the main rooms is connected.. so we have to manually process payments through the second machine and then manually enter the payment details into Frontdesk - bit of a nuisance really but once you get used to it...

Hmm it does sound quite similar.  Thanks for that info.  Have you gone back to Tyro with this info and had any help?

The Tyro terminal integrates with Front Desk via the Tyro Terminal Adaptor (TTA) software which is installed on your computer. In this case, it would be installed on your server.

On each computer (or Windows user profile), the TTA can only be paired with one Tyro terminal.

This means that as long as each remote desktop user only ever logs in from one location, they will be able to integrate with the Tyro terminal at that location. However, if any users work from multiple locations and use the same remote desktop login details across all locations, they won't be able to use Tyro integration.

I hope this helps!

Aaah that is helpful - thank you!  The RDC login is fixed to each computer so should never travel with the therapist to another location.  They have their own Front Desk software logins of course, but not RDC logins.

Hi hand works,
we connect in to a server from our second location and utilise tyro without issue.
tyro talk you through the setup and it was no more difficult to setup at the remote location than the local one.
Hope this helps

Hi Michael, does the Tyro machine connect directly to the laptop at the second location?
