Front Desk pre-release 16.5.2 is now available in the Support section of our website.

This version allows users to choose from a wider range of colours when
setting up their Appointment Book. We have also updated our branding on the Splash and About screens, and made an improvement to the way the Patient Booking Gateway searches for available classes, along with some minor bug fixes.

Here is the full list of changes:

Enhancements Made
 - Updated logo and font on Splash and About screens.

 - Removed the restriction when editing Appointment Book colours. Users can
define custom colours for the Appointment Book, appointment types, rules,
   statuses, and holidays.
 - Custom colours will now be saved once they have been set up, meaning the same
colours are used across all colour selection dialogs in Front Desk.
 - The Patient Booking Gateway will now prevent users from booking themselves
into classes scheduled earlier on the same day.

Bug fixes
 - In some circumstances an error could occur when exporting multiple
appointment book days to Excel at the same time if different practitioners
were visible on those days. Rare. Fixed.
 - In practices with multiple practice groups and no practitioner tabs, the new
"go to appointment" from the patient's Appointments tab functionality didn't
always work correctly. Since 16.5.0. Fixed.
 - The "Edit Clinical Notes practitioner" option wasn't ticked in User Access,
even after successfully turning it on and saving changes. Since 16.2.2.

Thanks Gerry, we appreciate all the work you guys do keeping the software continually up-to-date. I really like the new email I get when patients cancel and being able to email receipts is fantastic. I’m going to change the sender ID on our SMS to the name of our practice. I assume the return email will come back into Front Desk as normal ? Keep up the good work

Thanks, Spiro. If you change your SMS sender ID you won't be able to receive SMS replies into Front Desk, nor will the SMS to email return path work. However, it's still a great feature if you're doing an SMS marketing campaign, or for a "season's greetings" where SMS replies are not required.

The other neat trick is that you can change the SMS sender to one of your office mobile numbers to be able to receive replies on that device (please note, to do this your number must be entered in the format 61400123456). Once again, the replies will not be received through Front Desk, but this is still useful if you want to have a consistent outgoing SMS number on your messages, or if you are going to be out of the office for some time (during the holiday period for instance).
