I would love the option for package purchasing through frontdesk. We offer x10 and x5 sessions and would like to be able to easily record attendance and package usage...

Good luck! We were trying to get Smartsoft to do this for our packages at least 8 years ago, and were told that it was not a priority. Came very close to switching to another Practice Management System that is far more user-friendly in this regard. :)

I have to run two programs. It really sucks. It was impossible to keep track of admin management and I did a 10 week audit last year estimating that I lost approx 10000k over the year as attendance was not recorded properly from packages. That's the only reason it's worthwhile running two programs! Im sure front desk could do a better job though if they put their minds to it! ;)

Hi Kara. I would be happy to step you through using unallocated credits, treatment plans and the treatment plan report to assist you in this scenario. If you'd like to arrange this, please open a support case at www.smartsoft.com.au/support and request for me to give you a call back.

Hi Timothy thanks for the offer. I understand how the treatment plans work - it's still relying on admin to allocate the funds - so too much risk of error. We need the sessions to be automatically deducted and clients to view packages online. Use by dates.. Ideally purchase online as well... just to name a few. ;)

Hi Timothy, we have always wanted to use a group package for our PIlates and exercise classes so would also really like a function that records payment and attendance.  I have always wondered if the bar code system would work to bill attendance and then use unallocated credit to receipt attendance?  Hope this makes sense.

This is a big one for us as well.  We played with using the unallocated credit / treatment plan option as well but suffered similar issues with regards to admin error and billing.  In the end, it started costing us revenue

So we ended up using Mindbody to manage classes (and the online payment features are nice).

Running 2 databases is less than ideal but at least we don't loose revenue.

This is the single biggest feature that would be on our wishlist from Frontdesk.

We often say that surely it can't be that hard, but I agree, It could be harder than we think.  We looked at all the different PMS options before going down the two database option and none of them do it well.  So if it was easy to do, surely someone would be doing it.

I think it would be a real winner for Smartsoft if they got it right.  Everyone I speak to is crying out for it.

Some of this issues involved are related to producing a tax invoice for the original package purchased and then additional invoices when patients wish to claim the individual visits in the package on their health fund. Note that you can't legally issue an invoice for a consultation you are yet to provide and that invoices can't be generated from the one payment for the package and the individual visits unless the system is creating fake invoices.

We agree that the use of packaged visits is becoming more common throughout the allied health industry and that we need to develop new functionality to make this process easier. Thank you for the constructive discussion on this matter. We have changed this suggestion to planned.

Realistically, with our current development schedule, look out for something in early 2019.

Kind regards
Tony

Tony this is really exciting. I would love to be involved if you would like to hear from a business owners perspective. I really appreciate your reply. Currently the program I use provides a receipt for payment with no item numbers on it so there is proof of purchase. Then once the sessions are used an invoice is generated with itemised usage. Feel free to contact me on my email karacassells@yahoo.com.au if you have any interest in further discussion! This will make me one happy front desk user ;)

Love these ideas - can you also add gift vouchers for group payments as well.  We have many clients purchasing for existing or new clients.  Some even do the payments from overseas and interstate via our website and over the phone.  It would be great to include on the online options.  Also it would be great to do payments through the online system.  We too have two programs running for payments on invoicing of group classes and then having to manually allocate into front desk. Very time consuming and human error or missing the emails to allocate gets embarrassing when you are still chasing payments from clients.  Sharon
