Health Insurance Fund information in 'Billing' window

We are a preferred provider for a particular health insurance fund, which means that their members are charged a lower rate than our standard fee.

The patient's health insurance fund information is entered in the 'Additional' tab, which then displays on the payment window, which is the last step of the billing process. If we're billing someone who is eligible for the cheaper fee we then have to cancel that step, go back and re-enter the fee amount.

Would it be possible to have the health insurance fund info displayed earlier on in the billing process, for example, on the first billing window as well?

I'm not sure if there is another way to work around this situation.

You could set up a specific fee category (eg call it MBP if Medibank Private) - much like you might do for adults, children, etc.  Then makes sure that your usual item codes are covered by this fee category, and set to the correct amount the rates that the fund have you charge for these item codes  within this fee category.

It's a bit of work, for sure, but the system will manage your requirement this way. :)

We have done the same as Joyaa, and called it "Standard Bupa" and "Concession Bupa" and we ensure that all patients with Bupa Insurance have their fee category nominated as one of those. It works well in making sure we charge the set fee for that service.

We have a fee category set up for Medibank members which has the members choice amount set up as a default amount :)
