How do I log into the Health Professionals Online Services (HPOS) using my Medicare PKI Site Certificate? It doesn't seem to work. I've tried multiple times on our computers that have the certificate installed.

Hi Rudi

Here is the number to contact Medicare directly for assistance: 1800 700 199.

Access to the Medicare HPOS website is not something that Smartsoft can help you with.

Hi Rudi

Is the Medcare/DVA online functionality working in Front Desk ? If it is, the site certificate is installed correctly and working.

Ensure that you are logging onto the Medicare HPOS site from a machine with Front Desk Medicare Online functionality installed.

Kind regards

Tony

I understand that there can be some issues if you have upgraded to Java 7, this has happened at one of our Lifecare Practices.

Hi Tony & Gath

Thank you for the advice.

Yes, the Medicare/DVA functionality is working on our front desk. I did try and attempt a log-in from this computer, but it failed.

I'll try again tomorrow and have a look at Java.

I know that government websites often have difficulties with windows explorer, so I might even try Chrome and see if it helps.

Hi Rudi

In our experience the Java issue would also affect Medicare/DVA Online in Front Desk. Not having the correct Java version installed can definitely cause an issue but we check that as part of the setup. Thank you to Cath for sharing your experience.

I suggest trying your other browser and then contacting Medicare again if required. Ensure that you tell them that you have a working installation of Medicare/Online on the machine you are using. We are not an authority of Medicare HPOS website access.

Let us know what you find.

kind regards

Tony

Rudi - you may want to acknowledge Cath by her real name rather than Gath (smile).
