icalendar not syncing refreshing

We've successfully added front desk to outlook using iCalendar, what is not happening is a 'refresh or sync' from all the MS forums this seems to be a known issue. So that when you add the icalendar it becomes virtually a 'snapshot' and never refreshes. Does anyone know of a 'practical' work around that doesn't involve reinstalling the iCalendar each time or doing a 'change' to the calendar that pushes a manual refresh? In other words does anyone actually know if Outlook has finally fixed the problem of not syncing?

When making an appointment in the Front Desk Appointment Book, any connected iCalendars won’t refresh immediately, but rather after a specific refresh interval. Front Desk automatically sets this refresh interval to 15 minutes, but it also depends on the device and software you’re using to view your iCalendar. For Outlook, specifically, please check that you have the “Update this subscription” option turned on. This can be found in the Internet Calendars section of Account Settings in Outlook.

Our testing has shown that iCalendar integration does work well with Microsoft Outlook, and our users have found it to be a useful tool.

The iCalendar functionality is designed to check appointments on your own devices when you’re out of the office, it’s not intended for use in the office where it’s important that you see changes to the Appointment Book in real time. For a live, real-time Appointment Book view we recommend installing the Front Desk application, or using the Web Appointment Book, which also works well on mobile devices.

hi Gerry

Thanks for the response, we have 'checked' the update this subscription option and it will not sync. We can install it fine and see appointments right out to five weeks in the future, however if ANY change is made in Front Desk it will not update even after 3 days and counting... So I guess until Outlook sort out their issues it's not really a viable option for us.

Thanks

Teresa
