Introducing dedicated (fixed) SMS numbers

Hi all. We have some good news. We will shortly be able to offer fixed sender numbers when sending SMS through Front Desk. This means that your SMS will always come from the same number and that your patients will be able to send messages to this number, which go directly into Front Desk. There will also be the possibility of some exciting new functions in the future such as being able to chat via SMS with your patients through Front Desk.

After some negotiation with the telcos, we have the price down to a $30 setup fee and $10 per month (ex GST), which we feel offers great value for those users looking for this feature. 

We will release an update when this is available to all users.

Thank you for looking into this. Would this mean that you are getting rid of SMS credits and using $10/month as a fixed cost?

No, this does not replace SMS credits :).

The fixed number is an optional feature for those that require it. Unfortunately there is no way to replace SMS credits as this is how telcos currently charge for the service.
