This is great. The examples show data relating to appointment types and totals. Will there be the ability to build graphs based on patient demographics? For marketing purposes it would be great to be able to graph patients into age, gender etc.

Hi Melanie. The first version of Front Desk Insights, due out later today, has 6 highly configurable widgets that focus on appointment, billing and stock data. In the near future, we will be adding more widgets that focus on other types of Front Desk data. Please feel free to add your suggestions below once you've had a chance to setup Front Desk Insights.

Would be good to download data into a CSV file for further analysis.

Hi Timothy,

Awesome work with Insights - I love it! And so easy to use.

Just a question - it looks like billings doesn't take write offs into consideration? Could this be looked into please?

Thanks :)

Hi Sondra. We're glad to hear that you're liking the Insights Dashboard! We have a number of new widgets and features planned for the future, including filtering of write-offs and reductions from billing-related widgets. Look for this in a future upgrade.

Thank you so much for developing insights!!  I have just set up our KPI dashboards and not only is it a great graphical interface for visual people like myself, but it's going to save management time in exporting and manipulating data.  Instead, it's all right there updated in real time and presented in an easily understandable format.

One suggestion I have so far is for grouping of appointment types.  Our practice has a different new patient appointment type for each location as the therapists like things to be colour coded by location rather than appointment type, so if I could group all of the "new patient" appointments that would be great for reporting.

Really looking forward to seeing what new widgets are coming!

Hi Renee. Thank you for your feedback on the Insights Dashboard. Over the years we've added item code and reporting groups, and we see appointment type groups as a logical progression of this. We've added this to our development to include in a future upgrade :)

I am very keen to use insights to provide our therapists with their weekly KPIs as I like the graphical interface and real time information.

I am using the billing totals widget with a target figure to do this and doing one widget per practitioner to produce this report.  I am using the "gauge" display to show the percentages, but I would like to show it without the target figure showing, as each therapist is different based on the hours they work per week.

Is there a way I can make this show the gauge without the actual dollar amounts showing?  If not, maybe a future feature can have a toggle to show figures on/off.

Hi Renee. Thank you for your kind words regarding the potential of the Insights Dashboard. Make sure you check out the latest upgrades, which include new practitioner utilisation and patient visit average widgets.

Regarding gauge widgets, we're not sure whether hiding the target amount would make much difference as you would be able to calculate the target by comparing the current value against the current percentage. Perhaps the text based widget (shown below) would be more suitable for this information instead of the gauge?

If you're concerned about practitioners seeing their colleagues' targets, you can restrict access on a per dashboard basis in Front Desk from System > Security > Access > Insights.

Thank you so much for the quick response.  The upgrades sound very exciting!

I moreso wanted to hide all of the figures so they do not see any dollar amounts on the graph at all, but just the percentage.  I do have each practitioner set up with their own dashboard which is another very handy feature.

Thanks Renee. Our feeling is that it's important for the practitioner to know what their target is, but we're happy to have a think about this :)
