Is it possible to split an account across multiple payers?

We are increasingly - 3 this month versus virtually never - getting requests from parents to have an invoice/account split between them and their former partner. Before I just say no we aren't able to do this, is it possible??

I believe you could add several " bill to third party" tabs under the patient name..

Though you can run multiple accounts on one patient file, say for the mother and the father of a child, I don't believe you are going to be able to split the item in two, predominantly as this will not be accepted by health insurance companies/Medicare etc.

Though Front Desk has a flexible billing system when it comes to multiple accounts per patient file, our recommendation is not to go down this path in this scenario.

We just say no as it is not our responsibility to negotiate the financial split of payments and we do not want to become the 'go-between' with warring parents.

Cath, I was worried that both parents would present the bill to a health fund for same day, as Tim suggests this would be a problem.
Agree Emily. I was tempted to point out "not my circus not my monkeys" but thought that a bit harsh and figured if we could do it easily then why not :)
