Canon DR-2010C - Slow to start - Document scanner integration

Having problems with scanning using Canon DR-2010C takes 30 seconds to start scanning have downloaded current drivers no change?

Hi James

Thanks for posting.

When using printer and scanner integration in Front Desk it does use the device drivers for the most part, so updating them first was a good choice.  A useful test to perform in this scenario is to try scanning to a base Windows application like Microsoft Paint.  If you load Paint, then go to File and 'From scanner or camera', are you able to scan properly? Does it still have the same 30 second delay?
  • If you aren't able to scan into Microsoft Paint whatsoever, it might suggest the drivers aren't set up correctly.

  • If you can scan into Microsoft Paint, and the 30 second delay is still there, it would be best to contact Canon for further assistance as it is a general scanner issue.

  • If you can scan into Microsoft Paint without the delay, and the delay is only present when scanning into Front Desk, we may need to look into the particular scanner settings you are using.
If you could please try the 'Paint Test' and let us know the results, we can hopefully help diagnose the problem from there.

Some low end scanners can take 30 seconds to scan the first page. Trying it in a program external to Front Desk (such as Paint) will let you know if this is the case.
