We purchased a Dymo label printer to print our new patient labels through Front Desk. The label printer is great but the generic options for printing patient labels don't match what we would like to print on our patient labels. If the front desk letter tags were included in the custom label section to set up new defaults that would be fantastic.

We use a Dymo printer but setup the label under standard letters- customise the paper size to the dymo label size - and then the normal letter tags are available for you to utilise for the label. Hope that helps.

Thanks David, this is a good solution to the problem. Give this a try Erina Podiatry.

We are also about to invest in a dymo label printer, but I noticed you cant print a GP address label?? That seems to me the most useful fact of printing labels. SO that my secretaries dont need to hand write the address on , or print onto a full label sheet - we do that as a work around.

Hi Julienne. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have managed to include printing of GP details to a label in a new update to be released this afternoon. These details can be printed by using the existing File Label button on the Billing Details tab as below:

I know this is a really old post, but can someone recommend a Dymo label printer? We have a Dymo Label Manager Plug n Play (via local usb), but it doesn't seem to work - ie.Front Desk can't find it as an option when pressing "Settings" (above).
Thanks :)
Thanks :)

Hi SydSportsMed
We don't have a specific model to recommend, but Front Desk integrates with the majority of Dymo label printers. The Dymo printer only needs to be accessible from the Dymo software before Front Desk can print to the device directly.
The latest release of Front Desk (17.1.5) supports up to version 8.7 of the Dymo software.
Please feel free to open a support case if you need any assistance with this functionality: https://www.smartsoft.com.au/support
