We already have mail chimp set up and have auto responders that go out at certain intervals, after the clients E Mail is entered into the mail chimp list. My question is, I don't want to re link the whole data base to mail chimp again, as this already exists, and the applicable auto responders have been sent, which are date triggered from the time the clients E Mail address is entered into the mail chimp list. I just want to link new E Mail addresses for new clients as they are entered into Front desk, as opposed to creating a CSV file from the patient list report and then exporting each day into mail chimp.

Hi Neil

The reason you are having this problem is because your MailChimp database was not initially setup using the Front Desk MailChimp integration.  During the initial setup for the integration, various important ID’s are shared between Front Desk and MailChimp to keep them in sync.

What you will need to do is create a new MailChimp database using the Front Desk integration. While it might take some time to do this, it will benefit you in the long run, as both systems will be automatically kept in sync with no need to export data in Front Desk and re-import in MailChimp.

To start an email campaign to a sub-set of your clients, such as the new patients from this week, use the “segments’ functionality.  To do so, go into any of the Front Desk reports and select your report filtering criteria (in this case the patient list report for patients with transactions this week billed with an initial item code).  If you have no existing segments, when you click the MailChimp button on the right, you’ll be asked to create a new one. If you have already created a segment, you’ll be asked if you want to add the selected patients to an existing segment or create a new one.

For more information on getting started with MailChimp as well as using the Segments functionality, please see the following article:
