I would like to add people to a Mailchimp segment triggered by the purchase from an item group.
Does this happen automatically, or do I have to run the Item Group report and then sync with Mailchimp?
The scenario is that a patient is given a particular product or service, and we automate an email sequence with info and advice over the following 12 months.

Hi Damian. One of the great things with the integration with MailChimp is that it allows you to create segments/sub-groups of your client list using many of the reports in Front Desk. For full details, please see the Segments section of the MailChimp Integration article.

To add patients to a MailChimp segment, you will need to manually select the MailChimp option when running a report in Front Desk. Using the example you've provided, you would select the Patient List and enable filters for patients who have purchased a particular item or item in a specific group, as well as the date range for these transactions, as shown below. You'd then select the MailChimp option to create the new segment.

I know it's probably not your role Timothy, but I want to automate an email series in Mailchimp when a new person is added to the segment.
I can only see how to do this to a whole list.
Any Ideas Mailchimp experts??

Hi Damian. We're not too familiar with the automation features of MailChimp, but we're happy for fellow users to share their experience. It is important to note that you will need to resync your Front Desk database, which happens automatically when you create a segment or manually on the MailChimp tab of System Information by clicking the 'Sync' button.
