Sorry, I just reread your post and understand that you would like to be able to retain the names of organisations that you have previously used.

hi Steven
I've found this one quite good www.australiandoctorsdirectory.com.au and quite comprehensive, you can search under just GP's or all doctors and by suburb. Also your 'Medicare Local' has a full list of GP's in your area and some of them have them listed on their websites in some capacity or else you can ask them 'nicely'. Usually if we say we've got a great program that will help the GP's in their patient care, then the medicare local people are quite supportive. You can also pay for lists but they're only as current as the day you pay for them.
good luck

1. A "search" button on the Edit GP/Referrer box. For example, when a surgery changes its name, it is time-wasting to change the name for one GP, then have to close the box, then reopen the Search GP dialogue box once again, and do this for 6-10 GPs. Very similar in principle to what already exists on the General tab of the Patient entry screen.
2. Some kind of "copy" facility: when adding a new surgery with 10 GPs it is time-wasting to need to type in the surgery name, address, phone no's etc 10 time.
Similarly, if a GP adds a new surgery address to their list of addresses, and that new address already exists for other GPs in the system, it would be nice to be able to "copy" an existing entry then edit the GP's name and provider no.

Would it be possible to change the GP Referrers database when entering a new GP or referrer so that you can select previously entered organisation details please? It is a bit tedious having to reenter information for each individual person.
Alternatively, could there be a single practice listing where you can just add Dr names into the practice

I have merged your idea with an existing post and we will continue to monitor interest in the topic.
