Medicare Currently Experiencing Issues with Payments Report

9:40AM ACST: Medicare is currently experiencing issues with Bulk Bill payment reports affecting Medicare/DVA Online users. The issue is affecting the receiving of reports and allocation of payments, it is not affecting your ability to send claims. At this stage we recommend you delay paying off Medicare claims in Front Desk (using the ‘Process’ button). You can continue to bill clients and send claims to Medicare.

We will keep you updated when further information becomes available.

We have had confirmation from Medicare that the problem regarding missing payment reports is due to the large number of claims they are receiving for the end of the financial year. Currently payment reports are taking up to 72 hours to be received rather than the usual overnight processing. They hope to see this resolved over the next few days.

We recommend the following:
  • DO NOT manually process payments for outstanding claims. The Medicare payment report is only delayed, and once received you should be able to automatically allocate the payment from the Medicare/DVA claims window.

  • Continue to process Medicare payments as per usual over the following days, understanding that the payment reports are currently being delayed by the high number of claims.

Good morning everyone. We've received the following update from Medicare regarding the ongoing issues affecting the payment report function within Front Desk:
The Australian Government Department of Human Services would like to advise that Payment report services for Medicare Online and Medicare Easyclaim are currently experiencing a degradation of service. A resolution is being worked on as a priority and we will provide more information as it becomes available. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
