Some of our networked computers aren't displaying the Medical Referrals tabs. Both using Admin and other users. Access is granted via security. Is there another setting I'm missing or is this a bug?

Hi Ben,
Have you checked "system information" > "advanced" tab on the 'problem computers?

Hi Benjamin
We are not aware of any issues in this area. If you have just enabled Medical Specialist Referrals (from System Information > Advanced), please ensure you have restarted Front Desk across all machines.
If this does not resolve your issue please open a support case on our website for further assistance: www.smartsoft.com.au/support

Thanks, Joyaa and Andrew. I had to do both these things to sort out the different networked computers.
Andrew, I will say that the warning message (about being Allied Health and using default functionality) that comes on when selecting Medical Referrals was disconcerting and put off changing this setting previously.
So, with regard to using Medicare Easyclaim, is there a "default" way for Allied practitioners to claim or is using Medical Referrals the correct/only way?

It is not recommended that allied health practitioners use Medical Specialist Referrals, which was designed for use by Medical Specialists (such as psychiatrists) with more specific referral requirements. Using this option creates additional overhead, which is not required for allied health practitioners.
The recommended referral process is to use the Billing Details tab of the patient file and enter the referring doctor details on the account:

This is enabled by selecting Referring Doctor under Print Options:

Clicking the More button then allows you to enter the Date of Referral and Referral Expiry Date:

Please note moving from one referral system to the other may require you to re-enter your referring doctor details within patient files.
