Front Desk Messenger - Resize Option

recently updated to 16.9 however we are now not able to resize the messenger box.  This is creating issues with privacy and also hinders use of clinical notes etc.  Before the update we were able to make the box smaller which alleviated these issues.  The option to turn off "keep in front setting" is not helpful in our situation.  Please enable re-sizing again.

Hi Adapt

Thank you for posting.

The Front Desk Messenger was recently updated to a more modern interface, and has been re-developed in line with our upcoming Front Desk Messenger App for iPhone and iPad devices (to be available at no cost to all users).

The updated Messenger is still re-sizeable, but we have set some limits so that it can't be made so small that it cannot be used.  The Messenger window is also floating, so it can be easily moved aside if need be.

To be more specific, was it because you prefer to keep your Messenger in a certain shape? Or perhaps were you resizing it in a particular way, that hides certain areas or limits the lines?

We would be happy to have an open discussion on the new Messenger layout and possible improvements. I have converted this conversation to an Idea, and hope to hear more on how our users currently use the Messenger.

Yes it suits us best as a square or thin tall rectangle.  We dont need the person collumn in our office as we post to all but understand to many this is useful. possibly the ability to remove this column would even resolve our issue. mostly in the clinical notes screen where its a problem as it covers part of the information needed.  in terns of privacy issues we have can we alter font size?  i have not considered this till now.

Thanks Adapt.

It sounds like it is just slightly too big for your needs.

In regards to your privacy concerns, is the thought simply to make the font small enough that only someone directly in front of the screen could read it and not a patient possibly a few meters away? Although it might work, I feel it wouldn't be a guaranteed solution depending on distance/eye sight etc.

Would something more in line with a 'Privacy' button be better? Is this a feature anyone would use on the Messenger to hide message content?

in terms of security - yes a privacy button would be great.
Yes it is an issue with people w few meters away possibly reading it.
