We drive a lot of patients to our website to book and manage their appointments online. We have had a lot of feedback saying that the patient online booking form can be a confusing and hard to navigate.
Would be so helpful to say to patients, download this app and you can manage appts through this. Anyone else finding this same problem and see an app being launched in the near future?

I agree Ashleigh, this would be a great idea, and if they could also 'check in' using the app when they got here like other apps do it would be fantastic
Agree that an app would be incredibly useful, not only for bookings but also for patient communication using push notifications. And allowing them to check in.

Hi Ashleigh

I just want to confirm that you are using the Front Desk Patient Booking Gateway and not another product?

If you are using the Patient Booking Gateway, I can confirm that we’ve spent quite a bit of time refining the design of the interface and have tested it with various users. Our opinion and the feedback we’ve received is that it is easier to use than most online ticketing services. The system uses the processes and decision making steps that a receptionist would follow when booking an appointment so that the patients are booked in appropriately.

I can confirm that we are currently working on a mobile-specific site for the Patient Booking Gateway that will improve the experience for patients accessing your site from a smartphone - this will also give patients the ability to add a link to your booking site on their smartphone home screen.

I’m pleased to hear that you are driving traffic to your booking gateway, as this creates great efficiency for your practice. Some of the best implementations of the Patient Booking Gateway are seeing upwards of 300 active users per month making and managing appointments.

Be sure to follow the Announcements category on the community to receive email alerts when new versions of the Patient Booking Gateway are released.

Hi, I'm just curious as to how this works in bigger practices, with admin staff that look after practitioners books and that charge cancellation fees for <24 hrs notice.

If anyone is in this boat, feedback would be great. Thanks.

Hi

In short it works very well at making it more convenient for patients to manage their bookings 24/7 along with reducing the call load on reception desks. You can easily set the gateway not to accept cancellations within 24 hrs so the patient must call your desk if thats a concern.

Thank you!

Does confirming by SMS work the same way, only they can cancel out their own appointments?

Hi Tonia. Thank you for calling through to our business care area for an online demo of the Patient Booking Gateway today.

As discussed, the clinic does receive an alert within the current version of Front Desk when a patient cancels online, and we are working to include emailing cancellation alerts to practitioners in a future version of the Patient Booking Gateway.
