to have the ability to have someone remain in the practitioner queue once they have been billed

Hi Jenny

Thanks for posting.

This is currently possible with the right configuration of Appointment Statuses. From the Appointment Book tab of System Information, select the 'Statuses' button to view your Appointment Statuses.

Assuming you are using the default statuses, if you edit the 'Patient Arrived' status you will notice it has 'In-Queue Status' enabled.  This means when an appointment is set with this status the patient will be listed in the Practitioner Queue.

Because billing a patient will automatically update the appointment status to 'Completed' (as set in the 'Defaults' tab), all you need to do is edit the 'Completed' appointment status to also have the 'In-Queue Status' enabled.

Now even after billing and the appointment status updates to 'Completed', the patient will remain in the practitioner queue. 

You could also come up with different combinations of appointment statuses that better fit your workflow, and then adjust the 'Defaults' tab and the 'In-Queue Status' as needed.
