Reason for appt on booking gateway

Would you consider having an option to make it a mandatory field to specify the reason for the appt when booking an appt through the online booking gateway rather than having it as a separate button displayed only on completion of the booking (which can easily be missed).

We find that people often don't select the correct appt type so they may not have enough time booked for their appt or they sometimes even book completely the wring service.

As a result, we have resorted to calling all patients who make online appts to check thier booking is what they actually need which kind of defeats the purpose of the online gateway really and also takes up valuable admin time.

Hi Rachel. Thank you for your suggestion. We're happy to consider your feedback regarding making appointment notes mandatory.

If patients are selecting the wrong appointment type, I would suggest adding patient-friendly Display Names and Descriptions to the appointment types you are offering online so that the differences are clear. 

This is setup in System Information > Appointment Book > App Types > Double-click the Appointment Type:

Further, on the Appointment Types window you can set the order of the appointment types shown to patients:

In the latest version of Front Desk you can also order the Professions. This is set in File > Patient Booking Gateway Configuration > Professions
