Restricted User Access not translating to Web Appointment Book

I am concerned about a huge security problem I have just discovered. I don't know if this has always been an issue, or if it is a by-product of recent upgrades. The problem is this:  I have restricted some of my users so that they can't see Notes in the Patient Tab (amongst other things). This restriction is effective when those users log into the main Front Desk system. One would also expect the restriction to also apply when these users access Front Desk via the Web Appointment Book. The problem is that it doesn't, which means that my users have access to information which is supposed to be restricted. This is extremely counter-intuitive and needs to be fixed asap. Please let me know how quickly this can be repaired. Thanks, Joanna

Hi Joanna. The security access permission for the notes tab of the patient file was designed to disable access to the tab on a per-user basis. In addition to this, there is a setting in System Information > Appointment Book called 'show patient notes on Appointment Book', which is a per computer setting. Some users may wish to disable access to the notes tab but still display notes in the appointment book tooltip where they can be viewed but not edited or removed. As the 'show patient notes on Appointment Book' is a per-computer setting, it hasn't been translated over to the Web Appointment Book, which currently displays notes in the tooltip. To be clear, this pertains to general notes, not clinical notes.

We agree that this is not ideal and will consider how we can tidy this up in the next release of the Web Appointment Book.

Thanks Timothy. I will do this in the future (my apologies).

I did also discover that the (general) Notes only seem to display on the tooltip of the Desktop version of the Web Appointment Book. I noticed they do not appear on the SmartPhone version... so half the problem is already solved.

On another note, can I please give feedback that the Desktop tooltip is way more visually user-friendly and easier to read than the new version of the SmartPhone Web Appointment Book. The way that client information now displays on the smartphone version is far inferior to the old version (in the opinion of many of my clinicians)

Thanks,
Joanna
