We are currently reading up on the Commonwealth Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme and reviewing our data security protocols.
We back up Front Desk every night onto a USB thumb drive and take that thumb drive home so that we have an offsite backup at all times.
If someone stole one of those thumb drives, how easy would it be for them to access our data?
Granted, they would need to have a copy of Front Desk on their computer in order to restore a copy of our database, but would they need to know our passwords as well? If they installed a copy of Front Desk onto a computer and had administrator access to that copy, could they simply do a restore from our thumb drive?
Kind Regards
Barbara
