I would like to send SMS reminders through my own mobile number as texts sent this way are free for me. Can this be made possible?

Hi Sergey. We are unaware of any practice management system that allows you to use your own phone to send SMS reminders. There are several reasons for this: the difficulties of integrating with many different phone platforms, no delivery receipts showing the progress of SMS sent, no ability for replies to be delivered directly into Front Desk and no ability to schedule SMS to be sent at a later time. Further, all phone carriers have a fair use policy that limits the commercial use of the included SMS in your phone plan.

If there is a special circumstance requiring you to send SMS using your own phone number, such as a holiday period when you are not in the office, you can override the SMS sender number to your mobile phone number, with patient replies being received on your phone. More info on this feature can be found in part 9 in the following article: https://community.smartsoft.com.au/smartsoft/topics/making-the-most-of-sms

Ultimately, the SMS cost is a very small percentage of the consult fee and the additional features of sending it through Front Desk provide added value compared to SMS sent through a phone.
