<<PrefName>> & <<AppointmentTime>> not filling when I send an SMS via the Single SMS tab so people are getting messages with the tags displaying. Also when sending any type of message (email, SMS, etc), if a person doesn't have a Preferred Name it doesn't automatically fill with the First Name instead which is what the list of tags says it will do if there is no Preferred Name.

Hi Kate. Thank you for your post. The single SMS option isn't designed for use with merge tags as a link to a patient file isn't formed, which means the patient's preferred name and appointment time cannot be pulled into your SMS.

There are two other ways that you can send a single SMS to a patient if you wish to include merge tags.

1. By right clicking on an appointment and selecting 'send SMS', you can use both the <<prefname>> and <<appointmenttime>> tags.

2. You can open a patient file by searching and selecting the Mobile/SMS button on the general tab. The <<prefname>> tag will work, however for an appointment you will need to use the <<NextAppointment>> tag to include the patient's next appointment.
