Templates & Printing Issues

I'm struggling with creating templates. I select a template & then I want to send a copy to the GP but invariably there is an extra "Clinical Notes" titled page at the start & then the template . I do a "Print Preview" & it shows there as well. Any thoughts on how to address this?

I have had success in printing without the 'Clinical Notes' title by right clicking once I have the template visible in the clinical notes section and selecting 'edit in word processor'. If you print from within the word processer the superimposed title does not appear.

Hi Mark

When you select Print from the Clinical Notes tab sometimes the extra text produced will push your Clinical Note to another page.

As Heidi has suggested, to avoid this you can double click or right click on your Clinical Note and select ‘open in word processor’ to open it up in the Word Processor and print, email or PDF it from there. Doing this will reproduce the document exactly as it displays on your computer, so you will need to label it as confidential and provide any further identifying details that you require either into the Clinical Note itself or the accompanying letter you send to the GP.

You can also copy and paste information from a Clinical Note into a standard letter. More information can be found here: https://community.smartsoft.com.au/smartsoft/topics/remove-the-clinical-notes-header-when-printing-o...

Thanks Heidi & Steven. Is there anyway to do what you suggest but keep the patients name in the document? Is there any field you can use for this?

Hi Mark

You can add letter tags into your Clinical Notes templates by selecting View, Standard Letter Tags

This brings up the list on the right side of the screen. Simply double click on the tag which you want to use and it will be inserted into your Clinical Note template.

Every time you add the template it will auto-fill from the Patients file:
