Treatment Plan/Calendar year

Hi. We are finding the treatment plan counter very useful for keeping track of visits under Mental Health Plan referrals. If a client has seen a psychologist elsewhere, we are able to adjust the treatment plan counter (number of sessions/6) but not the number of treatments used per calendar year (number of sessions/10. It would be extremely useful if we could also adjust this to show visits used this calendar year, but elsewhere as medicare will only rebate 10/year. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Karen, I understand the dilemma here. It would be good if we were able to get the number of consultations remaining from Medicare through an API, but this information isn't available. We're looking at adding the ability to set an offset for the calendar year. This will also record the year the offset was entered so that it doesn't affect future years.

The offset is exactly what we need (though link to Medicare and number of sessions remaining would be absolutely brilliant!). Looking forward to seeing offset in a future update. Thank you.

Hi Karen. Over last year, we have been recommending that users only enter in the number of remaining treatments when setting up a treatment plan for patients that have had appointments at other practices. i.e. if they have had 3 treatments elsewhere and they are allowed a maximum of 10 treatments, set the number of treatments to 7. We are moving away from the idea of adding a calendar year offset as we believe this will add unnecessary complexity for most users.

As a side note, in the near future we will be adding a treatment plan end date field, which we believe will assist the majority of users when managing treatment plans.

Hi Timothy
Yes we do this now for Treatments but the Calendar Year can still show incorrect information. As you probably already know,as psychologist we need to track treatment sessions in groups of 6 with total sessions (Calendar year) set at maximum of 10.
I'd be interested to hear how other practices keep track of this electronically.

End date on treatment plans would be great as we use it also for workcover clients when they have approvals for number of sessions within a period of time.  So looking forward to this update.  Sharon
