When the waiting list highlights it has an appointment available and you choose to allocate that appointment it would be helpful if it then gave the option of either sending an sms or an email to the patient to advise that an appointment has been made for them and can they confirm it is OK.

Hi Liz. Something to consider. We still think that it would be important to call a patient who is on the waiting when an availability arises. What does the the Community think?

I think it depends on the client. A lot of my contact with clients now is by SMS as I don't have full time admin support and it means contact is often quicker and easier than clients having to leave messages/me having to return calls. An option for a SMS or email would be fantastic.
